One + One is an independent journal comprised of interviews, essays and reports covering all aspects of film making and film exhibition. It is unlikely that you will find film reviews in our journal; personal reflection and opinion are certainly present, but it is not our aim to give bite-size opinions on the merit of individual films. we believe and want to encourage a thorough and critical analysis of film and its social and cultural effects and implications. We do not write from a consumer perspective, or as just a theorist. All articles are at some level influenced by the act of film making to a greater or lesser extent. We encourage a wide variety of articles whether autobiographical, journalistic, historical, philosophical, socio-political or whether they are manifestos or interviews. However the perspective of the film maker, as a theme, is of central importance. We encourage the exploration and innovation in thought as in cinema.
